Ethical Beliefs

Photojournalist Ethics should be situational because it really does just depend on the types of changes that are being made. It is not always wrong to make little changes in a photo. If you make drastic changes, for example adding certain object such as a pen or even a flag in the backgroud, that would not be a reasonable change. It gives off different ideas about the photo.

There is truth in candid taken photos, but i do not believe there is truth in posed photos. When taking posed pictures, there is just emotion in the photo that the person is just doing for the camera, but if caught off guard or in candid images, there is truth, you can determine how the person is feeling because they have no time to think of an emotion and show it!

As a photographer I have just taken out little white spots from the photo. I havent really tried to make my photos something else. I think it is important that the news defined ethical standards because photographers need to know their limits and what changes are allowed to be made without creating lies.

The line between a little change and a big change is not clear so don't change anything at all.

If a photographer creates a situation such as, two political leaders fighting and releases it to the public to create a bad image for those leaders it is absolutely always wrong.

Rule: it is always wrong to create a situation instead of displaying the truth.
